Serbian Center Lazar Nekic (213-C-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for Al Fateh Al Hasa, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 37 points and 20 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Al Ahli (#1, 2-0) 77-119. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Al Fateh is placed at 4th position in Saudi Arabian SBL. Al Fateh is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 1st lost game this season out of 2 games. In the team's last game Nekic had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Al Fateh's top player in his first season with the team. Former Loyola Marymount University star has very solid stats this year. Nekic is in league's top in points (3rd best: 26.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 12.0rpg) and averages impressive 71.4% FGP and 42.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Algerian Mohamed Harat (198-SF-1990) of league's second-best Al Nasr Riyadh. Harat had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Al Nasr cruised to a 92-81 relatively comfortable win over Al Ittihad (1-1). His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Harat is a newcomer at Al Nasr, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Alex Young (198-F-1989, agency: The Crew A.M.) of Al Salam (#6). Young got into 30-points club by scoring 36 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds . He was a key player of Al Salam, leading his team to a 79-59 easy win against Al Khewaildia (#9, 0-2). Al Salam needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Young has a great season in Saudi Arabia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.0ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 10.5rpg (8th best).
